Rosehill Barrier Trial Blackbookers May 7 - We Can make Cash

  • I'm saving already for a few of these who trialed VERY impressively

As we look ahead toward the big races in Queensland over the next few weeks, a huge set of barrier trials were conducted at Rosehill on Monday morning.

Weather was lovely, track was superb, and here are the runs of the morning.

Older Horses

WALK THE STREETS: it's been nearly a year since this mare, who is eligible for a provincial Class 1 raced, but I doubt it will be that long before she wins. Was cantering all the way when 2nd home in a fast run, fully loaded trial. She was most impressive.

FOREIGN TERRITORY: might be pretty smart. I love seeing horses who are stoutly bred, pinging the lids and leading short course trials and this unraced son of Tavistock did just that. He broke clear to win the trial running away too. Can't wait to see him entered in somewhere.

SHOCK ALERT: has not raced for 6 months but he is talented. Is a legit BM 78 horse and after sitting at the tale here over 900m, he rounded them up effortlessly and strode clear. Looks back better than ever. And can stay.

DISSOLUTE: Is fit already but he jog trotted when 5th in 900m trial. He's busting to have a race and on a Saturday at say BM 80 level, he looks a special.

FAROLITOS: looks back and looks back in super style. Has had just the one race in 2 years and that day was wide all way when 6th. That was 5 months ago. Needed this hit out but will win soon.

DELUXE ROCKER: is a provincial Class 1 galloper who was given a quiet time in his trail when last of 7. See him in at Kembla or Newcastle, or the like, have a bet.

NATHULA: may make into a promising stayer and off this impressive trial, when 7th over 900m, he looks ready to run boldly first up. Is a Class 2 horse at the provincials but may well have midweek talent.

UNWISE: is a maiden 3YO filly with Godolphin but I doubt she'll be a maiden much longer. Was doing best work late under restraint in quickish 900m trial. If you see her in at the provincials, would be worth having a few bob on.

Two-Year-Olds

GOTTA MINUTE (Choisir-Seeyalater) this is a fast filly who looked extra good when 2nd in good time. She led and was run down quite comfortaby but was held together and looked like she could have won easily if Corey Brown had let her go.

PEDICEL (Redoute's Choice-Cleanup) was pushed out but won her trial in good style and in pretty quick time. Yet to race but already is looking for 1200m or further. Strong pedigree suggests she is pretty handy.

BEIDI (Stryker-Mingshan) was under restraint all way and had mouth open, pulling hard, wanting to run, but wasn't allowed to when 3rd. Is yet to race but looks above average.

I AM ZAIN (I Am Invincible-Zyoon) sat back near last all way and was 7th across the line beaten over 5 lengths in slow time. Didn't try one inch. Watch market when he races.

GOD OF THUNDER (More Than Ready-Jolie Bay) unraced but might be something pretty smart. Ran 4th, beaten 4 lengths but jockey Brenton Avdulla would have had sore arms at the end of this 900m trial. I will be on for a stack when I see it on debut.

Some unraced juveniles stood out like dog's b.... and are WORTH following.
