Stud Plans have been put on hold for Trapeze Artist as connections target an All Aged Stakes start for the Three-Year-old.

Owner of the Snitzel colt Bert Vieira has had plans for a stud career for the horse for some time and has had discussions with interested breeders however has put those plans on hold after the colt’s brilliant win in the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick last Saturday.

Vieira has informed trainer Gerald Ryan to set the horse for a tilt at the Group 1 Everest in October as slot holders are already making moves since his TJ Smith win.

Beating home the first Everest winner Redzel was what sparked an interest in the Everest and the colt will be spelled after this weekend’s All Aged Stakes at Randwick.

AAP reported that Ryan was happy with his performance in the TJ Smith Stakes and is now preparing him for this weekend’s last Group 1of the Autumn Carnival.

“He has come out of the TJ Smith really well” Ryan said.

“The horse is bright and well in himself and will be there on Saturday”.

Vieira forced a chance in plans for the horse with him by-passing the Doncaster Handicap (1600m) to run in the shorter 1200m TJ Smith Stakes; a plan that produced outstanding results as it turned out.

Trapeze Artist has now won three races over the 1200m trip including the Group 3 Black Opal Stakes and Group 2 Expressway Stakes at weight-for-age.
