Tatura Barrier Trial Blackbookers May 15 - horses to follow from the Victorian barrier trials

  • Lindsay Park team dominate
  • Samovare and Invictum Domina most impressive
  • 5 horses to follow

There were 14 trials on a Good 4 track at Tatura on Monday, May 15, and a few stood out as potential next start winners.

Jot these names down in your blackbook and hopefully enjoy a nice collect as they start to filter through in the next couple of weeks.

Trial 4 (1000m) 1:01:15
REGAL EMBRACE is another youngster from Lindsay Park with his share of talent. The son of Redoute’s Choice was given an easy time in the trial but travelled nicely and looked to something to offer as he finished 2nd. He debuted with a 3.3-length 4th placing at Flemington before going to the spelling paddock to mate. Has come back in good order and can pick up a race soon.

Trial 5 (1000m) 1:01:17
Another from the Lindsay Park team but this one was far more impressive than the previous. SAMOVARE is a former West Australian-based galloper that won the Group 3 WA Champion (1600m) at his fifth start. He travelled kindly in last place and had no hesitation in taking a gap and sprinting to the front under no pressure at all.

Trial 6 (1000m) 1:01:10
Surprise, Surprise! Yet another one from Lindsay Park. INVICTUM DOMINA has always show potential but absolutely blitzed them in the trial to signal she was back in great order. Led throughout and kicked to win by five under a stranglehold.

Heat 8 (1000m) 1:00:35
I feel like a broken record saying another from the Lindsay Park team has to go in the blackbook. DAM READY ran good time and showed enough at the Wyong Magic Millions meeting in December before failing in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast. Due for a win and can followed this time around.

Trial 10 (1000m) 1:00:15
Finally! Another trainer with one to follow. Luke Oliver’s ZELETTO has won three from four first-up and ran the quickest time of the 1000m heats and was never off the bridle. Placed in the right race he can improve on his brilliant fresh record.
