Rosehill Barrier Trials July 18 - some beauties making their way back

  • Gerald Ryan has a stable of star juveniles about to race
Alizee (above) was by far the most impressive trialler today

The track was a genuine good 4 on the brisk but clear Tuesday morning in Sydney this week.

And, thankfully so as 12 ripping barrier trials were conducted at Rosehill Gardens in 7 degrees.

Here are the best of them.

Older Horses

ROCK MYLADY: just didn't come up last campaign with all runs being poor. That may have changed as this 3rd was a terrific performance.  Worth one more go.

SARRASIN: ran 4th in trial but was wide all way and was not extended at all down the running. Probably needs another trial but this might be a star racehorse.

TANGO RAIN: is a good trialler normally and no surprise to see him jump and lead all way here in good time. Wasn't extended either and looks back better than ever.

STATE OF PLAY (Fastnet Rock-Joy Toy) is owned by Singo and he is going to have some fun with this filly. She is an absolute flyer and looked stakes class with this all the way win in fast time.

MASIKOTA (Street Cry-Cheyenne's Star) was forced to chase a tearaway and did it well under a big hold. Her run was overlooked by the way the winner ran so keep this one close to your chest.

ASSIOMA (All Too Hard-Axiom) has run 6th and 9th in 2 trials to date. But will win on debut. They are playing ducks and drakes with this filly. Is ready to win - love her to go to the provincials first up.

ALIZEE (Sepoy-Essaouira) will be a star of the spring based on this trial. Is a monster and just gobbled up the lead when given an inch of leather late in trial. Wow!

MANHATTAN BRIDGE (Manhattan Rain-Magic Fingers) was swamped late by Alizee and probably will be forgotten as the winner was awesome. Saying that, this filly is unraced and this was first trial. Has class.

TRAPEZE ARTIST (Snitzel-Treppes) this is a good colt. And a big bugger at that. Just cantered over the final 250m of his trial to run 2nd. Could have won by a minute.

WANDER (Lonhro-Mayfield) loved the way he railed up from fair way back in a strong trial heat nd finished 2nd. Looks a stakes horse in the making. Is still unraced.

MENARI (Snitzel-Isurava) just sat wide all way and ambled up to them final stages without being extended at all. Ran close 3rd in fast trial. Looks back.

SANCTIONED (Teofilo-Aforethought) doesn't have a great deal of early speed and not surprising with his pedigree. But man he can muster a sprint home. Looks up to Sat city grade.
