  • Only two stood out.
  • Jaclyn the most impressive

There were a total of seven trials conducted on a Soft 5 at Murray Bridge on Friday, July 28, and a couple stood out as potential next start winners.

Here are my horses to follow from the Murray Bridge barrier trials:

Trial 2 (900m) 00:52.020
MURTI clocked the quickest time of the six 900m heats and did it quite comfortably after covering more ground than any other runner. Jockey Dom Tourneur was happy to sit three deep without cover throughout before coming to the centre of the track where the son of Murtajil went through his gears at his own pace. He’s won on Good, Soft and Heavy tracks and is going well enough win one in the near future.

Trial 4 (900m) 00:52.150
JACLYN (1st) and KID FLASH (2nd) really gapped the remainder of the field and did it very easily. Both were untested to the line, but if anything, Jaclyn was going home a bit better. Jaclyn won at Murray Bridge on debut by 3.5 lengths and was sent for a spell immediately. Trainer David Jolly has a nice filly on his hands here and she’ll measure up in town for sure.
