Flemington Jumpouts - Friday October 6th

  • 14 Jumpouts from Flemington
  • Six blackbookers

A big morning of Jumpouts from Flemington with 14 Jumpouts in total. We've found Six horses that are worthy of a spot in the blackbook.

Jump Out 3: 800m - 49.17sec
Five unraced two-year-olds competed in this Jumpout and it was the Lindsay Park stable that impressed me. LONG LEAF sat outside the leader for Damien Oliver, when asked he showed a superior turn of foot to his rivals and quickly sprinted away. The stablemate Juthoor didn’t go around a runner and made it interesting along the inside, finishing three-quarters of a length away in second. Long Leaf seemed to have plenty in hand however, going to the line with his ears pricked for a very soft Jumpout victory. Very smart.

Jump Out 4: 800m - 48.99sec
The Godolphin runner Big Blue set the tempo up front and was urged along in the straight to score a two and a half length victory. It was second placed runner OVERSTEP I want to be with moving forward. The Waller runner looked very strong in his work with the blinkers on. He went with Big Blue early and was never asked for an effort as he finished a length ahead of third. Assuming Waller finds some suitable races, he should be in for a fruitful preparation.

Jump Out 6: 800m - 49.75sec
Another batch of unraced two-year-olds and again it was the Lindsay Park operation that impressed me, as the three Hayes, Hayes & Dabernig runners ran the trifecta. I’m putting two of those three in the blackbook. The first is the winner FIRST CHOICE. The Filly out of Nicconi looks to have plenty of speed and class. She sat on the outside of the leader and stablemate Speedy Kitty and ambled up and went straight past her in the home running without being asked for an effort. She couldn’t have been too much more impressive. The second horse I’m putting in the Blackbook was the third horse DOWNLOADS who looks to have the most improvement to come from any Hayes & Dabernig runner in the Jumpout. Downloads settled in four and when asked to move through a gap in the straight looked very green. She did a few things wrong but picked up nicely to move through into third and was never asked for a serious effort.

Jump Out 8: 800m - 49.25sec
It was hard to not be impressed with the Michael Moroney-trained MILWAUKEE. The four-year-old Gelding was on-speed and always travelling wide. He struck the front with about 250m remaining under light riding and strode away from his rivals to record an impressive length victory, with the horse in second placing under the whip. Winner of the listed Bendigo Guineas, this horse always seems to go around at a good price. Hopefully we can get a piece of that good price first or second-up over 1400m would be ideal.

Jump Out 10: 800m - 47.57sec
This Jumpout was run in very quick time and the top three horses put a space on the others. The Nigel Blackiston-trained LADY OF FLANDERS (Maude x D’Oh) was clearly the most impressive runner. The three-year-old Filly cruised up to her rivals in the straight who were under riding and was never asked for an effort as she took the narrow victory ahead of Harbour Grey. Lady Of Flanders finished with two seconds and one win in her two-year-old season and looks like she has returned a stronger Filly this time in.

BLACKBOOKERS:

Jumpout 3: LONG LEAF
Jumpout 4: OVERSTEP
Jumpout 6: FIRST CHOICE
Jumpout 6: DOWNLOADS
Jumpout 8: MILWAUKEE
Jumpout 10: LADY OF FLANDERS
