Flemington Jumpouts - Friday January 5

  • Blackbookers from the Flemington Jumpouts on Friday Morning
  • Some very impressive horses that will be winning soon
Friday Mornington Jumpouts from Flemington Racecourse

A big morning from Flemington with 15 Jumpouts being held and four very exciting horses to follow.

Jump Out 5: 800m - 49.07sec
This Jumpout wasn’t the quickest of the morning, but horses don’t work much better than PREZADO. The three-year-old Denman Gelding arrived on the scene winning the Flemington Fling on Melbourne Cup day, storming home to beat the likes of Property, Sam’s Image Bandipur and Madeenaty. The Ellerton & Zahra stable have frenshed him up and he has returned in great order. Prezado settled at the back of this six-horse jumpout and peeled out the widest around the home turn before storming home into third under a hold. The top two horses were clicked up in the home run while Prezado was never asked for an effort. I’m not sure exactly where the stable is going with him, but I’ll be following.

Jump Out 6: 800m - 48.01sec
An unraced horse from Lindsay Park at the Flemington Jumpouts is always a cause to sit up and take notice. This is no exception, the unraced TWILIGHT SONG is the blackbooker from this jumpout. I couldn’t find any information on the horse, but he/she showed great gate speed, jumping a length in front before looking a little new, wanting to throw the head around. Twilight Song settled better throughout the middle stages of the Jumpout before looking very strong late under a nice hold. They probably won’t miss it in the market on debut, but if we can get $4 about it on debut, I’ll be happy.
Note: After being scratched at the gates, the promising four-year- old mare Creativity was forced to Jumpout before being able to race again. She did so in this Jumpout and finished a nice fourth and was never asked for an effort.

Jump Out 13: 800m - 48.32sec
Copy and paste from above for this Jumpout. Another unraced Lindsay Park galloper goes in the blackbook. JOBURG FLYER looks like a ready made galloper and proved that with an easy win in this morning’s Jumpout. Joburg Flyer didn’t show dazzling gate speed but built momentum and found a forward position. He kicked strongly off the bend and was moving away from his rivals in the final 100m of the race. He looked to be carry a little condition so he should improve off that Jumpout. Looks ready to win on debut.

Jump Out 15: 800m - 49.20sec
Horses don’t win Jumpouts better than Tony McEvoy-trained ILLUMICON. The Three-year-old Nicconi Colt is a speed machine. He started a $2.10 favourite on debut at Morphettville in July and finished a close-up fourth. He improved with race experience and traveled to Bendigo for his second start. It was an impressively Maiden win at the time. We now know that was one of the strongest Maidens of 2017. Finishing in ninth was a horse called Pinot. Amerock finished fourth, he has since run a close-up third in the Listed Morphettville Guineas. I could go on and on with the formlines. Back to this mornings Jumpout, he jumped well and went straight to the front. He led by three lengths into the home straight under a strong hold, while all the horses behind were off the bit and being urged along. He was eased down in the final 75m to win by three lengths. Illumicon is a genuine Group horse.
