Caulfield Jumpouts - Tuesday November 22

  • Nine Jumpouts from Caulfield on Tuesday Morning
  • We've found three Blackbookers that should all be future winners

There was a total of Nine Jumpouts from Caulfield on Tuesday Morning and we’ve watched them all, picking out the best Blackbookers. We’ve selected three from the Mick Price yard to follow in future races.

Jump Out 1: 650m - 39.42sec
The Mick Price-trained galloper PETE’S DRAGON has clear talent and is the horse I’m following from this Jumpout. She started his career with an all the way victory at Cranbourne in January and then Price threw her in the deep end at Caulfield, racing behind the likes of Kenedna, Summer Wind and Princess Of Queens. She had four runs throughout the Winter period, with two good runs before coming to the end of her preparation. She looks to have come back in terrific order, controlling the Jumpout from the front. She was under a stronghold coming into the straight whilst the horses around her were under riding. Her winning instinct was shown late, with the horse on the outside heading her before she kicked back to win the Jumpout still under a hold. One to follow through the off months.

Jump Out 4: 650m - 40.01sec
This is a tricky Jump Out to access as three horses went across to the outside fence in what was an extremely messy affair. I did go back and forward about putting the winner in, but after watching it more than a few times I have elected to put the Mick Price-trained galloper in the backbook. The win by SWEET DISTRACTION was too good to ignore, even if the margin was somewhat exaggerated. I really like the way this Snitzel Filly runs, striding away and putting up six lengths on her rivals as they straightened. Second and third place were also under riding eight lengths away, so for that reason, I’m happy to add Sweet Distraction into the Blackbook.

Jump Out 7: 650m - 40.91sec
Gee we’re hoping Mick Price has plenty of good horses. We’re with another of his runners from the Caulfield Jumpouts. This time its LAYEL. The three-year-old Reward For Effort Filly has had one career start for a close-up second at Cranbourne back in July. The winner Fleeting Feeling had her second career start in a Group Three race on Oaks Day that was contested by the likes of Jorda, Blondie and Demerara. She was four and five wide for the entire Jumpout but was simply too quick for her rivals. Layel won’t be a Maiden for too much longer.

Blackbookers:

Jumpout 1: PETE'S DRAGON
Jumpout 4: SWEET DISTRACTION
Jumpout 7: LAYEL
