Caulfield Jumpouts - Wednesday January 3

  • Nine Jumpouts from Caulfield on Wednesday Morning
  • Two horses to follow

Caulfield conducted nine Jumpouts on Wednesday morning. We’ve found two horses that can win very soon.

Jump Out 1: 700m - 41.70sec
There were some experienced campaigners in this Jumpout, including Murt The Flirt and Tristram’s Sun. Although Murt The Flirt closed off well, the horse I’m wanting to follow is the Robert Smerdon-trained DAMASCUS DAME. The three-year-old Denman Filly cruised to the front and I love the way she strides, she was doing in comfortably and was eased down late to win very impressively. Smerdon obviously has a big opinion of the Filly, as she made her debut as a two-year-old in the Listed Maribyrnong Trial Stakes. She went to Geelong last start and sat outside of the leader, before hitting the front and putting them away in impressive fashion. She can go on with it and win city grade races in my opinion.

Jump Out 6: 700m 43.04sec
Another horse from the Robert Smerdon yard that I’m interested to follow. EDEN EAGLE is a three-year-old Gelding who is currently unraced. Smerdon has already taken him to the Cranbourne trials on three separate occasions. Twice he finished at the back of the field and his most recent trial was a fifth behind Raymax. In this morning's Jumpout he settled in between runners before the horse on the rails dropped away. I liked the way he picked up the bit with the blinkers on and drove up the inside strongly. I’m keen to follow him in the right Maiden.

Blackbookers:

Jumpout 1: DAMASCUS DAME
Jumout 6: EDEN EAGLE
