Winx - Staying in Australia

Connections of super mare Winx have opted to by-pass an overseas campaign and keep her in Australia.

A press release issued by trainer Chris Waller has confirmed the mare will remain in Australia and focus on finishing off her autumn campaign.

The pressure has been on connections since last year to test the waters overseas with a visit to Royal Ascot the likely venue.

However, the owners, together with TRAINER Chris Waller have made the decision to keep the mare in Australia and stay focussed on finishing off her autumn campaign on a positive note with her next start being the Group One Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Waller told Sky Thoroughbred Central the logical thing was think of the horse first and looking ahead, target another spring carnival in Melbourne with the ultimate goal being a fourth Cox Plate.
