Flemington Jumpouts Friday August 11 - The Best Horses To Follow

  • We take a look at all 16 Jumpouts from Flemington
  • We've picked eight horses to follow

We take a look at all 16 Jumpouts from Flemington on Friday August 11. We've picked out eight horses that are worth following into the Spring Carnival.

Jump out 1: 800m - 43.08sec
This is the second Flemington jumpout in two weeks for the Matthew Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained HEATHERLY. Last week Heatherly was able to defeat Redkirk Warrior and Hartnell in what was by far the quickest jump out of the day. This week she defeated another Lindsay Park Group One winner. Heatherly defeated Vega Magic by roughly a length. With those two clearly too good for the rest of the field. Heatherly hasn’t raced since eighth on a Heavy 10 in The Galaxy at Rosehill in March. If these two jump outs are any indication, she’s gone up a level from her last preparation.

Jump Out 3: 800m - 44.90sec
The winner of this jump out was WILD HORIZON, an unraced galloper for team Hawkes. I’ve done some digging and found out She is a Fastnet Rock Filly related to Group Three WA Oaks winner First Impressions and was brought for $950,000. She jumped straight to the front and led all the way, defeating proven gallopers such as Muraaqeb and Double Jeopardy. I’m very excited to see Wild Horizon make her debut and she is going straight into the Blackbook.

Jump Out 5: 800m - 44.67sec
We saw the New Zealand gallopers dominant the Sydney Autumn Carnival and the theme might continue in the Spring. SARACINO was a Group Two winner and Group One placed as a three-year-old in New Zealand. He came for one run in Australia, running sixth in the Group Two Arrowfield 3yo Sprint being Derryn, Global Glamour and Impending. Damian Oliver noted he just didn’t handle the right-handed way of going. He was an impressive winner of jumpout number five here at Flemington and looks to have adapted to our way of going much better as a four-year-old. He won the jumpout comfortably ahead of BOOM TIME. I was impressed with Boom Time who wasn’t suited over the 800m and still stuck on with Saracino who is a sprinter. I’m going to put them both into the Blackbook.

Jump Out 6: 800m - 44.75sec
We listed RED IS THE ROSE as one to follow from last week's Flemington jumpouts and she is still firmly in the blackbook after another impressive jumpout victory today. For those who missed last week’s edition, Red Is The Rose won her Maiden impressively at Sandown in the Autumn before being thrown in the deep end next start, the Group Two Kewney Stakes. She finished fourth behind I Am A Star, Ellicazoom and Keneda. That form speaks for itself. CRYSTAL DREAMER finished a close-up second to Red Is The Rose in this jumpout and they spaced the others. I think both horses have tremendous upside. Red Is The Rose stays in the blackbook and Crystal Dreamer goes in.

Jump Out 7: 800m - 44.39sec
Two horses for the blackbook from this jumpout. The unbeaten SHOALS for the Lee and Anthony Freeman stable returned in impressive style, getting the victory in this jumpout. Shoals settled in behind the leaders and was asked to extend around the bend with roughly 150m to go. The Filly picked up well defeating the Tony McEvoy trained A THOUSAND DEGREES. A Thousand Degrees is an unraced Colt and pushed Shoals all the way to the line. McEvoy has his Colt nominated for both the Caulfield Guineas and Golden Rose whilst Shoals is the equal second favourite for the Thousand Guineas. I am interested to see where Tony McEvoy places A Thousand Degrees for his first start. Hopefully, we get a good price in a suitable race.

Jumpout 1 - HEATHERLY
Jumpout 3 - WILD HORIZON
Jumpout 5 - SARACINO
Jumpout 5 - BOOM TIME
Jumpout 6 - RED IS THE ROSE
Jumpout 7 - SHOALS
