Samara Dancer and Dom Tourneur - far too good in Blue Diamond.

Finding a Group 1 winner is hard and when the better horses draw wide - nearly impossible, but Ric Chapman victory for one horse in his Blue Diamond Stakes speedmap.

"CHINA DREAM is the next to link up and moves in  without issue, followed immediately by ARETI and now FLYING ARTIE and KINETIC DESIGN join the field, and we are set for the Group 1 Blue Diamond of 2016....EXTREME CHOICE is the favourite.

Starter holds them momentarily....now he says go, they're off and the fav began like a rocket from out wide and is circling the field early while underneath him STAR TURN and on the fence HELL OF AN EFFORT are going forward too.

Next is VALLIANO but whizzing past him is Extreme Choice as Newitt tries desperately to find a spot with cover but  no luck at present.

His stablemate Flying Artie is getting back worse than midfield trying for the same and CONCEALER is back near him but is looking to make ground.

Just up in front of them we have CHINA DREAM and where's SAMARA DANCER? Found her, she's up much closer today in about 5th, one off the rails in a perfect spot.

As they weild to the back and start to settle into order, Newitt has had no option but to let Extreme Choice slide and he is using gas, but he's charging around the outside and now sits one off in the death on the outside of Hell Of An Effort with HIGHLAND BEAT next on the inside of Star Turn who is beautifully placed. Just in behind them is Samara Dancer travelling alongside of Valliano who is being ridden along to maintain his position and trying to get up between that pair is Concealer who is moving into the fray nicely.

Next is Areti whose trapped three wide and HEY DOC is on the fence. Splitting them is China Dream who has settled into stride off the pace now.

He's followed by Flying Artie who has cover. Oliver has him on the outside of POWER TRIP and that pair are travelling nicely.

Further back we have MISS NYMERIA who is cluttered away on the rails and on her outside is ZAMZAM.

Next pair are Kinetic Design who is beaten for early speed, and SWEET SHERRY who was snagged back to last.

They charge past the halfway mark in the Diamond, and it's a compact field, with Hell Of An Effort, who has gone pretty hard, leading by a half to Extreme Choice who now gets a breather after working early, oh gee Samara Dancer has improved to 3rd now and she is going nicely just in behind them in a perfect spot with Highland Beat next to her.

Concealer and Valliano are there poised too and now Flying Artie from the back makes a run but he's trekking wide to do so followed by China Dream with Star Turn in that cluster all commencing runs too.

Hey Doc is next on the indide and Miss Nymeria is a mile back and on the rails behind him.

Up to the 500m the big field charges and Extreme Choice is moving.

Newitt asks him to go and in two strides he eyeballs, and in fact heads Hell Of An Effort, as they start to swing. Highland Beat is ridden hard and is still there but is striuggling while Samara Dancer is patiently ridden....and on the bridle.

Tourneur pushes the tiring Highland Beat aside as they straighten and here she comes.

Concealer is trying to get onto her back and out wider we have Star Turn making ground sharply. The widest is Flying Artie who spots them four lengths around the bend.

Valliano is next and under the whip with Hey Doc and Power Trip trying to rally. Miss Nymeria is being ridden for luck on the fence.

Down to the 300m and Extreme Choice has exploded away.

He's put three on Samara Dancer who is now charging out after him. Concealer runs to third and here's Star Turn and wider out our Flying Artie charging too.

Has the early pressure effected this leader?

Samara Dancer is coming at him. Extreme Choice is digging in but the filly has momentum and she surges to him.

She roars past with 100m to go.

Flying Artie and Concealer are closing late, but Samara Dancer, courtesy of a sensational ride and lenient run, is full of running.

She's gone two clear near home and she'll win the Diamond comfortably from Flying Artie and Extreme Choice back on the fence, who was brave in defeat.

Concealer is next followed by Star Turn and Miss Nymeria who had a luckless passage down the running, charging home late.

Finishing Order

1. SAMARA DANCER
2. FLYING ARTIE
3. EXTREME CHOICE

Next home
4. Concealer
5. Star Turn
6. Miss Nymeria
7. China Dream
8. Power Trip
9. Hell Of An Effort
10. Hey Doc
11. Valliano
12. Zamzam
13. Areti
14. Highland Beat
15. Sweet Sherry
Last. Kinetic Design
