Form analyst Trent Orwin previews his best selections for Pinjarra on Monday.

Race 1 (12:48pm local/2:48pm AEST) – WESTBRED GRADUATION MS PACE – 2185m

Bolta is a two-year-old gelding that has been competing against a number of very talented juveniles. He has been beaten 20m or more in three of four starts but this looks an easier assignment today.

He will need some luck from inside of the second row but there have been glimpses shown by the gelding that suggest he can run a forward race in this company.

Recently these R0 races have been won by two-year-olds taking on the older maidens and expect this one to go close with Gary Hall Jnr driving.

Race 2 (1:23pm local/3:23pm AEST) – TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP SS PACE – 2631m

Upandgone gets her chance to break through for a victory as she begins from barrier two on the front line. If she can step well to take up the running then she is going to take some catching.

She has been finishing strongly in her races, including a second-placing behind Im Havinaball who would be a strong contender in today’s event.

The key for Upandgone is staying ahead of Gap Year (10m handicap) and Idle Maple (30m) who will offer strong resistance.

Race 5 (3:11pm local/5:11pm AEST) – MS PACE – 2185m

Livingston Bay has come up with barrier one and he may be able to break a string of placings when beaten narrow margins by She Could Be Good, Tims Portrait and Chal Storm.

He has been making up ground in recent efforts and today he should either find himself in front or trailing Major Presley who will be looking to cross early.

Race 6 (3:44pm local/5:44pm AEST) – MS PACE – 2185m

Ultimate Flyer has very good gate speed and he looks a big chance of crossing from barrier four to lead. He surprisingly handed up the lead last start and that cost him victory.

He hasn’t been far away at his past four starts and if he can find the front then he will take plenty of catching.

Five starts ago he defeated Tisadream over the longer trip and his chances hinder on Kerrin Joseph not finding the lead.
