A total of 28 horses remain in contention to contest the 2017 Inter Dominion Championship which will begin at Gloucester Park on November 24.

Seven horses were withdrawn from the series before the final acceptances were taken, including the fourth ranked Our Dream About Me, leaving a list of 28 horses headed by top seed Lazarus.

Lazarus confirmed his status as the one to beat for the series with a dominant display in the New Zealand Trotting Cup and will be joined in Perth by the fellow Mark Purdon-trained Have Faith In Me. Stablemate Our Dream About Me was one of those taken out before the final acceptances.

Lennytheshark, Chicago Bull, Have Faith In Me, Tiger Tara, Soho Tribeca, Shandale, Ohoka Punter, Major Crocker and Yayas Hot Spot complete the 10 highest ranked performers in the entries.

Shandale was one of the biggest movers since the initial set of rankings were released. Shandale began at 29 but surged into contention courtesy of victory over Chicago Bull and Soho Tribeca in the JP Stratton MS Pace (2130m) on October 6.

RWWA Harness Racing Chief Handicapper Warren Wishart said: “While it is disappointing not to have the full complement of 30 runners, the talent in the final acceptances is sure to make for an outstanding series.”
