Form analyst Trent Orwin provides his best selections for Gloucester Park on Friday night.

Race 1 (5:20pm local/7:20pm AEST) – WESTBRED MS PACE – 2130m

A competitive event to kick off the program. Brotha Ofa Gangsta looks a big risk from barrier one as he lacks gate speed and rises sharply in grade.

Bob Wheel is one of the class runners and the three-year-old gelding could land cover close to the speed and from that position he should be running home strongly.

Put a pen through his last run and look at previous form which suggests he will be a strong chance in this C1-C4.

Star Armbro would run a very cheeky race if he could lead and Military Master is quick off the arm. He could be set alight and if he crosses to lead then he too would prove hard to run past.

Abraxas Blues could be suited in the run and has a strong finishing burst which gives him definite claims in this race.

Multi 1

R2 – Mon Lillies to win – $1.75
R3 – James Galleon to place – $1.45
R4 – Runrunjimmydunn to win – $2

R5 – Maczaffair to win – $1.30
R9 – Galactic Star to win – $2

Race 3 (6:15pm local/8:15pm AEST) – MS PACE – 2130m

James Galleon gets his chance to win an M1-M3 as he draws barrier one and will look to set the pace with Char Do Neigh racing on his back.

His recent form has been good apart from last start when working too hard and dropping out. This looks a much more suitable assignment and he should be in front for a long way.

Char Do Neigh and Eyre Crusher look to be his main dangers with the former requiring clear-running in the home straight and the latter will have to cover plenty of territory from barrier nine.

Bungalow Bill is the other leading hope with smaller claims to Superimposed and Foxy Dame. Lord Lombo is a small place chance but can’t win the race from three back on the pegs.

Selections: 1-10-9-11

Race 4 (6:45pm local/8:45pm AEST) – 3YO MS PACE – 2130m

Runrunjimmydunn started a $2.90 favourite in the WA Derby and he faded late to run eighth. He did lock wheels in the home straight and can bounce back here in easier company.

Writing On Thewall will be trying his best to hold up early and if he did he may wait for Runrunjimmydunn to come around and hand up. He doesn’t look good enough which means if he holds the lead, Runrunjimmydunn can bide his time before putting the leader away.

The map looks positive for Runrunjimmydunn who will either lead, breeze or gain cover close to the speed if something makes a move and he looks to have the class and speed to walk away with this race.

Courage To Live, Tisadream and El Barcelona represent the biggest dangers to Runrunjimmydunn but I think Clinton Hall can intimidate his rivals with his main dangers drawing worse than him.

Selections: 6-7-12-8
