Super Saturday at Flemington - The Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival

Racingbase Staff - 5 Mar 2010

Aussie horse racing fanatics will be looking forward to the weekend when the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival finally gets underway.

The Carnival revolves around the two principal racing clubs, the Sydney Turf Club (with racing at Rosehill and Canterbury) and the Australian Jockey Club (which races at Randwick and Warwick Farm).  With more than $21 million in prize money available, it is one of racing’s greatest Festivals.

The $3.5 million Golden Slipper is one of Australia’s most famous races and is the jewel in the crown at the Rosehill Carnival, while The BMW is one of the nation’s great weight-for-age contests.

The AJC Australian Derby, Doncaster Handicap and the AJC Australian Oaks are all highlights of a Carnival that concludes with the Sydney Cup.
