Sariska primed for dual-Oaks bid

Racingbase Staff - 2 Jul 2009

Epsom Oaks heroine Sariska is reportedly working well in the build up to her bid to become a dual-Classic winning filly in the Irish equivalent on July 12.

Michael Bell will be hoping his daughter of Pivotal will be able to come on from her game victory over Midday at Epsom, a filly she will meet again at the Curragh, and she is making all the right noises at home.

The trainer said: "Sariska's very well. She is heading for the Irish Oaks and she looks marvellous.

"She's done one bit of work since Epsom and worked well, and she'll do another bit of work at the weekend.  The plan is Ireland, the Yorkshire Oaks and then we'll see after that."

Another one of Michael Bell’s fillies, Moneycantbuymelove, will have her riding arrangements confirmed later in the week.  The Sandringham Handicap winner has been entered in next week’s Falmouth Stakes but the trainer is unsure as to whether it will be her next port of call: "She seems very well, we've just got to confirm whether we go for the Falmouth and I'll be talking to her owners in the next day or so to see whether we stand our ground and roll the dice.

"Obviously it's a big step up in class and we'll confirm that in the next 24 hours."

Moneycantbuymelove is currently fourth favourite for the Falmouth Stakes, trading at 12.5 on Betfair, after this morning’s news that 1000 Guineas winner Ghanaati will not be in the line up.
