THE Racing for Change Order of Merit is poised to come out of cold storage with no fewer than five races in the championship on Saturday.
Three of them are at Ascot on Victor Chandler Chase day, while two are on Haydock Park's valuable card.
At Ascot, it's the £105,000 Victor Chandler Chase, the Holloway's Hurdle and the Warfield Mares' Hurdle.
At Haydock Park, the £70,000 Peter Marsh Chase and the Sportingbet.com Champion Hurdle Trial will be run.
They will be the first Order of Merit races run in 2010.
Currently, Kauto Star and Go Native are top of the leaderboard on 40 points, with Coral's favourite for the title - Big Buck's - just five points behind.
The Racing for Change Order of Merit comes with a prize fund of £100,000. This is split: £50,000 to the winning owner; £30,000 to the winning training yard; and £20,000 to the winning trainer.
The points system for the championship is: Grade 1 races 1st (20 points) 2nd (16) 3rd (12) 4th (10); Grade 2 races 15, 12, 10 and 8; Grade 3 races 10, 8, 6, 5
