Australian horse racing race cards - Winter Wonderland at Rosehill Gardens

Racingbase Staff - 30 Jul 2010

Saturday’s Rosehill Gardens meeting is being billed ‘Winter Wonderland’ by the Sydney Turf Club, but for NSW TAB punters it’s going to be a ‘First 4 Jackpot Wonderland’.

Three First 4 jackpots totaling $136,366 have been linked to Saturday’s meeting, securing bigger First 4 dividends for punters. Races 6 and 7 each have a $50,000 jackpot on the First 4, while Race 8 has a $36,366 First 4 jackpot.

The meeting’s feature is the $100,000 Winter Championship (Race 6) featuring the more than capable Illuminates, Falaise, Madibagold and Gergis who filled the First 4 placings in the Civic Stakes earlier this month.

Saturday’s BIG6, meanwhile, is a cross-meeting Rosehill Gardens/Caulfield BIG6, taking in the last three races from each venue. One of last Saturday’s thoroughbred BIG6 success stories involved a player investing just $20 on a mystery Fred bet at the Erina TAB to land 18.51% of the major dividend for a win of $21,350.

Sky Racing+ $20 offer for TAB account customers

Subscriptions to new Sky Racing channels are on target with tens of thousands already subscribing. A reminder that NSW and Victorian TAB customers only have until Saturday to take advantage of the $20 rebate offer for the Sky Racing+ pack. Details can be found on tab.com.au.

International racing

TAB punters of the international persuasion continue to have some of the world’s greatest racing to wager on as this week’s Glorious Goodwood carnival rolls on. There are three days left in the five-day festival and at tonight’s meeting the grand stayers do battle in the Group 2 Goodwood Cup (12.25am AEST, Friday). The carnival concludes on Saturday night with the clash of world-class fillies and mares including Midday, Stacelita and Lillie Langtry in the Group 1 Nassau Stakes (12:05am AEST, Sunday).

Meanwhile, four Group 1 races come from Greyville, South Africa on Saturday night, including the Durban July. The 2200m event will feature South Africa’s new pin-up horse Irish Flame. The first of the ten Greyville races commences at 9:35pm AEST (Saturday), with the Durban July Race 7 at 12:20am AEST (Sunday).

The Goodwood and Greyville meetings will be showcased on Sky Racing 2 and Sky Racing World as part of Sky’s global line-up this week. Sky Racing World host David Raphael will be at Greyville as part of South Africa’s Teletrack coverage that will be broadcast throughout the world, including on Sky Racing.
